Dextrans Group (Project Forwarding & Chartering division) recently handled and completed a delivery fulfilling its responsibility of heavylift operations and vessel charter. The mining machine weighs 88 tons each with about 23 meters in length .The Machines arrived at North Port(Malaysia) safely with Police escort from Striker Yard in Ipoh about 200km away manouvering through narrow slip roads before arriving at the loading terminal with police escort required all the way.
After loading onboard vessel with our own appointed MWS inspection and customs papers in place, the vessel set sail for Surabaya.
The delivery of these units at the mining site at destination was a challenge. The draft at jetty barly met the standards for these equipments to e discharged ad the whole operations had to be done within the high tide period allocated. Additionally in order to be allowed direct loading onto the trailers we had to work overtime to ensure that customs papers are approved. Overall, we had a effective team that ensured the whole project was well managed and a satisfied customer.
